The entire campaign was shot in Japan in the spring, which is a rather idiotic background for a fall collection. As you can see in this photo, the models are in front of cherry blossoms -- not exactly an autumnal look. Pink is also commonly associated with spring, not fall.
The model looks like she's zonked on Xanax. She's just staring at the gutter outside the image. Her expression is so bland and generic -- what shrinks call the affect display -- she's oblivious to her surroundings.
The pretentious faux subtitle is absurd. The ad campaign is supposed to be saying something about "lost in translation," but then no one is speaking or whispering in the picture, as the subtitle suggests. Every photo in the ad campaign has these stupid subtitles, yet no one is talking in any of the photos and most of the subjects are alone.
The most laughable bit is the coat. I'm of the belief that fur should look real, particularly when you're paying real fur prices. Otherwise it appears fake.
Or in this case, it looks ridiculous. That coat looks like it was made out of a pink bathmat.
Lest you think it's faux fur, it's not. It's dyed Finnish fox. And according to the Gucci website, it's $19,000.
The world's most expensive bathmat coat, and it'll be out of style next season.
